Laminate flooring can be used on underfloor heating. Installing laminate flooring on water underfloor heating is permitted provided that heating system is used under the whole floor. The thickness of build up floor over heating elements should be circa 2 cm.

Using concrete base floor entails making sure there is homogeneous temperature all over the floor with the possibility of raising and keeping it. Due to the floor dryness in the heating season, it is vital that floor be installed properly and expansion gaps be kept.

Additional activities need to be undergone:

1. Gap-filling concrete to be poured over the heating elements is to be in conformity with the manufacturer’s instructions.
2. Build up floor is to be warmed up before installing in order to prevent getting the moisture out later. It is to be done no matter the season.
3. In case of cement concrete, the heating can get started up after 3 weeks.
4. Start up the heating gradually, 5°C a day, until the maximum temperature is achieved.
5. The heating is to be left at the maximum capacity for the time of 72 hours, without lowering the temperature. Having finished that, the temperature is to be gradually decreased of 5°C a day.
6. To check if the concrete floor is dry, pieces of the film PE (50 x 50 cm) is to be used, by spreading it in a few places and fixing edges with a moisture-resistant adhesive tape. Only when the film is not steamed up and the surface of the floor has not discoloured after 24 hours, can the installation begin. Otherwise, concrete drying is to be repeated.
7. The heating is to be switched off at least 2 days before the installation. The air temperature during the installation should hover around 18-22°C. When the place is significantly chilled, the heating should be started up gradually, 5°C a day, until the maximum temperature is achieved. This rule is to be repeated each time before the heating season begins.
8. The floor temperature should not exceed 28°C. It is recommended the temperature hover about 20-22°C with the moisture level 50-70% during the heating season.

Basic rules of floor panels installation are the same as installation without floor heating.
